Hobert Tom Philpot

Hobert “Tom” Philpot, 74, of Cranks, KY went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 28, 2026. He was born August 18, 1951, in Grays Knob, KY. Tom was a retired coal miner and he loved the Lord. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Junior Philpot and Dorothy Lorene Haynes Philpot; his daughter, Shiela Marie Lee and his sisters, Elsie Asher and Charlene Gross.

Survivors include the love of his life for the last 35 years, Kathy Smith of Cranks, KY; his son, T.J. Philpot and wife KIm of Pikeville, KY; his seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. His brothers, Cecil Philpot and wife Louanna of Watts Creek, KY, Clarence Philpot of Evarts, KY, Raymond Philpot and wife Donna of Grays Knob, KY, James Philpot and Joseph Philpot both of Grays Kob, KY. Along with several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 1-PM in the chapel of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home with the Rev. Stanley Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will also be Wednesday from 11-AM until 1-PM.
